•Marijuana: With the Department of Justice's recent announcement that it won't stand in the way of Colorado and Washington's statewide initiatives to legalize and regulate recreational marijuana usage, the next question is which states are likely to follow those two down that same road. The Huffington Post takes a look at how far along some other locales are in that process, and perhaps unsurprisingly, efforts are focused in similar states in the West.
Tangible steps are underway to get legalization up for a statewide vote in 2014 in Alaska, Arizona, California, and Oregon (where a poorly-organized effort failed in 2012 even as it passed in Colorado and Washington). But a number of other states elsewhere, especially in New England, may move forward with ballot measures of their own. (David Jarman)
